Who We Are
LaunchPoint Golf is an independent golf media publication run by writers who actually play the game. We test the equipment we review, walk the courses we write about, and develop our strategic thinking on real rounds — not press junkets or manufacturer demos.
Founded in 2024, LaunchPoint Golf exists because most golf content on the internet is either too basic to be useful or too influenced by brand relationships to be trusted. We don't do sponsored content. We don't take free equipment in exchange for favorable coverage. Every review, every tip, every piece of course strategy advice on this site comes from genuine, independent evaluation.
What We Cover
Our editorial focus sits across four areas:
Golf Equipment — irons, drivers, wedges, putters, balls, bags, and accessories. We focus on gear that makes a meaningful difference to real golfers, not just tour players hitting it 320 yards.
Course Strategy — how to think your way around a golf course. Shot selection, risk management, pre-shot routine, reading conditions. The mental chess that separates good rounds from great ones.
Mental Game — the psychology of golf is often the difference between a 15-handicapper and an 8. We write about confidence, pressure management, building a pre-shot routine that holds up under stress, and bouncing back from bad holes.
Fitness & Conditioning — golf-specific training, flexibility work, and strength routines designed for players who want more distance and fewer injuries without spending six hours a week in the gym.
Our Editorial Approach
Every piece on LaunchPoint Golf is written with one question in mind: will this genuinely help a golfer play better? We don't publish content to hit keyword targets or pad article counts. If we can't say something useful and honest, we don't say it.
Some links on this site are affiliate links — if you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences what we recommend. We link to gear we'd buy ourselves.
The Team
James Whitfield is the lead writer at LaunchPoint Golf. A 7-handicap based in the Pacific Northwest, James has been covering golf equipment and course strategy for over a decade. He believes the best swing tip is the one that makes sense to you on the fifth hole of a Saturday round — not just on the practice range.
